The city has been touted as one of the world’s rapidly emerging office markets.
It is Australia’s most expensive space, holding the highest prime office rent per square metre of $896 per month.
Sydney sits at number 10 with the average price per square metre at $856 per month. Brisbane is in the top 20 ahead of Melbourne and, believe it or not, New York.
The 2011 Knight Frank global office market survey says Perth’s strong rental growth comes on the back of demand generated by Western Australia’s booming resource sector, and the falling availability of prime space.
The world’s most pricey office space is in Hong Kong at $1555 per square metre per month, followed by London and Tokyo.
Adelaide is not on the list.
